The Green Schools Project is a school-led initiative that seeks to promote sustainable actions that enhance natural resources management and environmental sustainability. It includes a strategic combination of environmental protection & conservation, agricultural land management, renewable energy, sports and community-led adaptative livelihood initiatives.
The project is an initiative of African Center for Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development and Zenaga Foundation GmbH with funding support from Sports For Future e.V and other partners. It started in the year 2020, Akwa Ibom being a coastal state in Nigeria with an increases risks factors of climate change impacts was selected for pilot project implementation.
